ATV Trails in the Beautiful Beaches of 59
by Lexi Verras
These trails are some of B59’s best kept secrets. You can get lost for hours driving through these trails. We do recommend bringing a phone and never ride alone, in case you really do get lost or stuck. Among all of the gorgeous trails there are also a handful of sand pits where you can rip around. These pits are always a lot of fun and a great way to stay in one area (especially with a larger group).
There are a wide variety of trails including ones that wind through the gorgeous forests in the Beaches of 59 area. The scenery within these trails is breathtaking. If you have ridden these trails, you would know how amazing the views are. There is something so freeing riding in the Beaches of 59 area. The wind in your face, the low humming of the ATV, and the smell of the forest, brings such an enjoyable and unique way to experience the area. There are so many trails from Scanturbury all the way to Traverse Bay and Hillside Beach. Even if you don’t have a place in the area, it is just an hour from the perimeter so load up the trailer and explore these picturesque trails.
When riding in these trails we want to make it clear that you are riding at your own risk. Although it can be a lot of fun, you still need to be safe about how you are operating your ATV. Helmets should always be worn and no one who is under the recommended age should be driving an ATV. These trails can be very different day to day and the driver should be aware of their surroundings especially with other riders in the trails. Some trails are very windy and only wide enough for one ATV. Always be prepared to come head to head with another rider on a narrow trail. We want everyone to be safe.
For staging areas, trail maps and more I recommend visiting and joining as a member the Belair ATV Club. Go to their printable maps and download them. This is just one of many available below.
The snowmobile maps in this area are also quite useful. It’s fun to try to find each of the warm up shelters/huts. Victoria Beach Snow Drifters and North Star Hillclimbers are the local snowmobile clubs.
