1st Annual Osprey Biijigigwane

Adventure Race Series

What is Adventure Racing?

Adventure racing is a dynamic, multidisciplinary team sport that involves navigating an unmarked course using only a map and compass. Races can vary widely in length, but this event is designed to be suitable for beginners, making it the perfect introduction to the world of adventure racing. With a manageable 3-hour time limit, participants will explore the park while tackling exciting outdoor challenges.

Race Format

Teams of three will embark on an unforgettable journey across Grand Beach Provincial Park. Using a map and compass, participants will navigate an unmarked course and race to collect checkpoint stamps in their passports within the 3-hour cut-off. Teams must stay together throughout the race, ensuring collaboration and camaraderie. Each participant must complete all three discilpines.

The Three Disciplines:

1. Trekking: Navigate the off-trail sections on foot through diverse and scenic terrain.

2. Biking: Tackle dirt, sand and gravel on the up and down trails, for a thrilling ride.

3. Paddling: Travel by canoe in the lagoon, working together as a team to navigate the water portion of the course.

The Osprey Biijigigwane Adventure Race Series is perfect for anyone looking to step outside their comfort zone and experience the thrill of adventure racing in a breathtaking natural environment. It's a rewarding challenge that fosters teamwork, problem-solving, and a love for the outdoors.
